Lempuyang Temple
Lempuyang Temple, locally referred to as Pura Lempuyang Luhur, is one of Bali’s oldest and most highly regarded temples, on par with Besakih (aka the ‘mother temple’ of Bali). It is also believed to predate the majority of Hindu temples on the island. Definitely a highlight on any travel itinerary for the fit and adventurous, the main temple lies at 1,175m above sea level, up on the peak of the namesake Mount Lempuyang in East Bali.
Tirta Gangga Water Palace
The Tirta Gangga royal water garden is a favourite retreat in the regency of Karangasem, east Bali. It was built in 1946 during the reign of the late raja of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem (1887 – 1966). Tirta Gangga saw a series of restorations following the destructive hot showers of volcanic ash from the 1963 Mount Agung eruption. The lavish water gardens owned by the royal Karangasem family feature 1.2ha of pools, ponds and fountains surrounded by neatly cut lawns adorned with stepping stones, ornate statues and tropical gardens.
Virgin Beach
Virgin Beach stretches for about 700 metres around an attractive turquoise cove bookended with rocky cliffs and fringed with tropical forest. The not-so-white sand is fine and squeaky and a joy to walk on. Out to sea, on the southern end of the beach, Pulau Kuan sits whale-like on the horizon.
Tenganan Traditional Village
Bali Tenganan Village is one of the oldest Balinese Traditional Village located in Karangasem Regency, east part of Bali. This village is much referred by cultural literature science of Tenganan Pegringsingan, which is very famous in the island. It own very unique local community life pattern which is one example of Bali Aga Village cultures (Hindu Prehistoric) and different with other countryside in plain of Bali. Nowadays, this village has been appointed as a place for tourist destination which can present the attractive and unique matters which able to add the variation of object and fascination for tourist to come.
Traditional Salt Maker
Kusamba Village is known as a traditional fishing village located in the eastern part of Bali about 20 minutes from Semarapura City, Klungkung. This village is also very famous for its traditional salt production, villagers in this village earn their livings by fishing and making natural salts. Kusamba Village is becoming an ideal tourist destination for tourists who are visiting Bali. Lots of fishing canoes arelined up under the palm trees and salt making huts are also lined up along the sea shores creating a very traditional view and would appeal all people who visit the beach. All the activities here are done in traditional ways without modern touch.
Bat cave temple
Goa Lawah also known as bat cave is very important to the Balinese Hindu community and one of Bali’s most important temples. It’s like Tanah Lot or Pura Besakih one of Bali’s key nine directional temples and serves particularly as a guardian against dark spirits from the ocean.
Mpu Kuturan who was one of tha priests who laid the foundation for Hinduism on Bali founded the temple in the 11th century. Some shrines in the compound are still dating back to that early period.
